Works to realign the Tullaroop and Chaplins Road intersection in Maryborough are now complete.
The project re-prioritises the traffic flow, which means heavy traffic on Tullaroop Road will have priority entering Chaplins Road.
The T-intersection has been removed and the road will sweep around making it easier for trucks to connect with Chaplins Road and then the Pyrenees Highway.
Works included drainage works, kerb and channel works and road reconstruction works and took approximately 14 weeks to complete.
With the project beginning in February, Central Goldfields Shire Chief Administrator Noel Harvey said the works will improve heavy vehicle access from Tullaroop Road to the Pyrenees Highway.
“The realignment is in a key location and it is a busy intersection so this project will ensure a safe and efficient passage for traffic,” he said.
“The project was made possible thanks to $400,000 in funding from the State Government and a further $200,000 in funding from the Central Goldfields Shire.”
