SHORT FLIX FILMING BEGINS

Central Goldfields Shire - Go Goldfields Short Flix Festival participants are just days out from shooting their short films with the 10 excited young participants receiving the ‘greenlight’ to go ahead and shoot their own stories in various locations across the Central Goldfields.

Once receiving the greenlight from Indimax Productions team for their scripts, the participants will shoot their films across the weekends 4-5 August and 11-12 August. They will then process to work on post production aspects with the Indimax team, editing and refining on 25 and 26 August, providing the finishing touches to their films.

Throughout the Short Flix initiative, participants have been working closely with professional filmmakers Indimax Productions, who will add the final touches to the films before they are presented to the community at the Short Flix Premiere Screening at Maryborough Paramount Theatre on Saturday 13 October.

Throughout the Short Flix Festival program, which kicked off in July, participants have attended a three-day intensive workshop program, held at Maryborough Education Centre, and learnt skills essential to filmmaking including storytelling, scriptwriting, editing, camera operating and directing. They will also work with local actors, makeup artists and crew to get the most out of their experiences.

Central Goldfields Shire Chief Administrator Noel Harvey said it was pleasing to see the film projects nearing completion.

“This has been a really exciting project for young people in the Central Goldfields Shire under the Go Goldfields banner, and I can’t wait to see the final productions at the premiere later in the year” he said.

“This has been a great opportunity for everyone involved and a unique chance to work and collaborate with Indimax Productions. I’m sure all the participants have taken something away from this initiative.”

The Central Goldfields Shire – Go Goldfields Short Flix Festival is a joint initiative between Go Goldfields and the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Fund.
