A project aimed at preventing graffiti in the Central Goldfields Shire commences this week.
The ‘Sorry About Your Wall’ project will see Central Goldfields Shire work with Victoria Police and Central Goldfields Art Gallery to engage with 220 local students, aged 10 to 18 years of age from local schools.
Central Goldfields Shire Interim Administrator Mark Davies said it was great to see a positive initiative around graffiti prevention underway in the Shire.
“Graffiti is a significant issue for most councils so it’s fantastic to see a project that will educate young people about the costly impact illegal graffiti can have on the community.
The project is funded by the Victorian Government’s Community Crime Prevention Program.
