As the fire season approaches, it’s vital that residents prepare for a long, hot summer.
No matter where you live in Central Goldfields Shire – whether you’re in a town or on a farm – your property is likely to be at high to extreme bush or grass fire risk.
Fire Action Week will be held across the state from this Friday, 13 October to Friday, 20 October and residents are encouraged to prepare their property and family for the Fire Danger Period.
Now is the time to:
- Clear undergrowth and fallen branches
- Move firewood away from the house
- Clean leaves from gutters
- Ensure that grass is cut
To help residents prepare, Central Goldfields Shire is offering two ADDITIONAL green waste collections over the coming months.
These additional collections will be on Friday 27 October and Friday 10 November which means there will be collections each week for over a month from Friday 20 October to Friday 17 November.
This is only for existing residents that receive the green waste collection service.
