HUNT FOR THE GOLDEN SHOE

School’s back for term four and so is the Central Goldfields Shire annual Hunt for the Golden Shoe competition.

October is Walk to School Month and Central Goldfields Shire is encouraging local school students to get involved by participating in the Hunt for the Golden Shoe competition.

The Hunt for the Golden Shoe runs for the first three weeks of term four and all participating schools receive three ‘golden shoes’ – with one shoe to be hidden in the school grounds each week of the competition.

Once students have found each of the three golden shoes at their school, they must attend the Central Goldfields Shire Get Up and Go Family Fun Day at Princes Park on Sunday 29 October, and participate in the Spring into Summer Stroll.

One final golden shoe will be hidden around the Lake Victoria Walking Track on the day for a lucky participant to find.

There will be a major prize draw at the Get Up and Go Family Fun Day and opportunities for students to win great prizes.

Every October the Walk the School initiative encourages Victorian primary school students to walk, ride or scoot to and from school.
