Rate payment – Direct Debit option
Central Goldfields Shire offers Direct Debit as a convenient and secure way to ensure that your rates are paid on time, every time.
Direct Debits are also now more flexible with the added choice of a “Weekly” payment option.

Special Budget Meeting
A Special Meeting of Central Goldfields Shire Council will be held on Tuesday 15 May, 2018 at 6pm in the Community Hub, 48 Burns Street, Maryborough.
The purpose of the meeting is to consider the 2018-2019 Draft Council Budget.
The public is welcome to attend and the agenda will be available on Friday 11 May at www.centralgoldfields.com.au

The responsible authority must make a copy of every objection available at its office for any person to inspect during office hours free of charge until the end of the period during which an application may be made for review of a decision on the application. If you object, the responsible authority will advise you of its decision.

Apply now for Sport and Recreation Victoria 2019-2020 Community Infrastructure Fund
Local sport and recreation organisations are encouraged to apply for the Sport and Recreation Community Infrastructure Fund – Minor Facilities Grant Scheme.
Grants of up to $250,000 are available on a $2 SRV: $1 Local basis for projects that develop or upgrade community sport and recreation facilities.
Projects should: encourage participation in sport and recreation through innovative facility initiatives; strengthen communities through the development of sustainable sport and recreation facilities; and encourage greater participation from females, juniors, and disadvantaged population groups.

Apply now for Community Grants Program
The 2017-2018 Central Goldfields Shire Community Grants program is now open
Community groups and organisations have the opportunity to apply for funding with $20,000 to be distributed to successful applicants.
All applications will be assessed against criteria which will then go back to Council for endorsement.
Funding to the value of $500 plus is available to a wide range of non-profit community groups/organisations to assist them in their provision of facilities and services.

Sale of Penney Lang Site
Central Goldfields Shire Council intends to sell the land located at 7 Penney Lane, Carisbrook and 11 Penney Lane, Flagstaff (the former Penney & Lang Site) on commercial terms as per Sec 189 (2) of the Local Government Act 1989, and invites submissions on this matter from members of the public as per Section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989.

Please note any submissions received will be made public. All submitters will be provided with an opportunity to speak on their submission at a Hearing Meeting (time to be advised) as part of the Section 223 process.
Inkerman Street upgrade works
Our works team is currently upgrading a section of footpath along Inkerman Street, Maryborough - between Barkly and Raglan streets.
The project also includes a new kerb and channel and the road itself will also be stabilised and reconstructed.
Roadworks commenced this week and will take approximately three to four weeks to complete. Detours are in place which take motorists into Goldsmith Street, Kars Street and Palmerston Street.
Early Years Expo
A wonderful time of learning through play was shared at the Early Years Expo on Saturday 28 April.
Thank you to all of the local early year’s services that collaborated together to deliver the event: YMCA kinder cluster of AG Leech, TL Stone, Cal Gully, Talbot, Goldfields Family Centre, Paisley Park, Maternal and Child Health, Carisbrook, Bush and Supported Playgroups. Schools including Maryborough Education Centre, Carisbrook Primary School, St Augustine’s Primary School and Talbot Primary School alongside additional supportive services and community organisations; Scope, Noah’s Ark, Inter- reach, Anglicare, Maryborough Regional Library, MDHS Dental Clinic, Goldfields Gymnastics, Baby Wearers, Breast Feeding Association, Kanga Training, Build Your Village Here, Toy Library and Go Goldfields.
