What a wonderful few weeks it’s been in the Central Goldfields Shire with a number of significant events on offer for our community to enjoy.
On Saturday night we had a full-house at the Maryborough Paramount Theatre for the Short Flix Festival Gala Premiere where we saw nine short films screened - created by 10 local young filmmakers.
On Sunday, the Regional Centre for Culture program presented a day full of free family entertainment including two performances by Circus Oz at the Station Domain. It was a great to see so many families out and about enjoying this special event.
A great program of events is currently underway as part of the Central Goldfields Shire Spring Fling program and a series of events have also been held locally as part of the Victorian Seniors Festival. Last Thursday more than 100 residents turned out for the main Council-hosted Seniors Festival event featuring Australian music legend Lonnie Lee live in concert at the Maryborough Highland Society
With the countdown now on to the busy summer holiday season we’re looking to fill a number of key volunteering roles. We’re currently recruiting for Central Goldfields Tourism Ambassadors, volunteers at the Central Goldfields Art Gallery and also a team of volunteers to help out at the 2018 Energy Breakthrough
Volunteering is a great way to give back to the local community while making new friends along the way so if you can spare some time we’d love to hear from you.
